Excitement
The new car was delivered to work today. The workshop has just finished the pre-delivery and I picked up the keys about 20mins ago.
I have to admit - I never thought I'd ever own a Ford until a few weeks ago. The logo on the cheesy bronze keyring they provide is still a little strange to me.
Kerry - LOL. Many Aussies are polarised with a Ford or Holden bias, but I'm a brand whore. Over the years I've owned a Mini, Nissan (twice), Holden, Volkswagen and Hyundai. Whatever suits my needs at a given point in time, I guess. As Jim pointed out, the multinationals play in the Australian market and Holden takes a lot of its direction from GM in the USA and Europe these days.
Polanski - Here's a gift voucher for a bitch-slap. Use it wisely and enjoy.
There wasn't a lot of room to pretend that I am of the "true blue" ilk. A car from an American-owned company which was designed in Europe and built in South Africa with hundreds of Asian parts thrown in the mix. Do you think a manual gear box would have saved me from being branded a traitor? ;-)
13 motor vehicle accidents (only two as at-fault driver, though!) -- The lumpy left shoulder is from being a passenger in a rolling 4WD (broken acromioclavicular joint) -- 6 to 10 coffees a day (more on weekends) -- Deeply cynical -- Foods I deem evil include avocado, cucumber, feta cheese, oysters, offal --
First camera was a bright red Hanimex 35mm - I believe that good customer service is almost DEAD in Australia and I want to do something about it -- Sydney is a dirty cesspool but I love it all the same -- Two sugars, thanks

But you're an Aussie so shouldn't it be a Holden?
Holden's no more Aussie than Ford or Toyota.
Come to think of it I still have fond memories of the only Ford i've owned, a 105e Anglia.
Ford.........your not from newcastle mate.....bloody hell.

I don't know if DJ's employer is anything like mine - but our vehicles have to be Auto (as an OH&S thing)
We have the choice of manual or auto, believe it or not. :-)
